TV Aerial Fitter Chelmsford Essex

Autum, my favourite time of year, still warm and not cold, blue skies and plenty of light until the clocks go back. Our first job today was a new aerial Roxwell Chelmsford Essex; we parked on our customer’s drive and admired their beautiful cottage. There was a lovely chimney stack without an aerial, and I wanted to put an aerial there. The chimney was challenging to lash due to its size and the flat top not being as sturdy as I would have liked, but with plenty of stretching I managed to get all 3 corners of the lashing kit on the chimney stack, and tightening the lashing wire connected to the large chimney cradle, I had an extremely strong support, ready for the new TV aerial. We had already taken some test readings with our test aerial and both London and Anglia signals were fine for us to be able to work with.

We put a log-periodic on an 8ft 1” ½ alloy mast and neatly taped it down ensuring each strip was equal and had plenty of tape ( 5 times around). I took the aerial up the ladder and up to the chimney stack and dropped the mast into the large U’ bolts of the chimney cradle. Our customer had already expressed preference to London so I aligned the new TV aerial to London. The signal was nice and square, without spikes or V’s, a little weak but once I fitted a masthead pre-amp, my customer will be receiving a perfect digital signal. I ran the TV aerial coax lead down the roof and pinning it every 3rd tile using the remaining of the unused lashing wire from the lashing kit. Once at the facia board we stapled the coax cable behind the facia board so it could not be seen. We stapled under the facia board until we got to the drainpipe and discreetly cable tied the coax cable at the back of the drain pipe to the floor where we discreetly tacked until the cable met the entry hole I had drilled behind the TV in the sitting room. Once we had the cable in we sealed the hole with silicon sealer, and fitted a grommet on the inside, we connected the 12v remote power supply unit to the cable and made a fly-lead to go to the TV.

We re-tuned our customer’s P.V.R and TV and checked our signal again to ensure the signal was reaching the ground perfectly. Our customers were over the moon with their pictures on their TV and delighted with the installation, perfect!
