YouView Aerial Installation www.andysaerials.com
We were originally called by our customer who wanted a YouView aerial installation quote for their property in Chelmsford Essex, when we arrived we chatted and conducted a site survey for the best location to install the new aerial. Our customer wanted to have a Free-Sat dish installed also, so we looked to the gable end of their property which would be ideal for both the aerial and the satellite dish, which needed to be facing south. We had access issues with our ladders as our customer’s gable end was not completely accessible but we could safely get to the back corner of the wall and get a good strong fixing. We took some test reading to ensure we were able to get a good quality signal for our customer’s YouView, and we were soon to be happy with the readings from our spectrum analyser. Knowing we would also attach a zone1 mini dish we decided to use 2 12” x 12” wall brackets offering outstanding support for the YouView aerial installation and the Free-Sat dish.

The Free-sat dish required a twin cable run to our customer’s sitting room and the YouView aerial installation was one cable into our customer’s loft where we intended to connect to their distribution amplifier, which fed other rooms of the house. We used our favourite Facarro log-periodic wide band aerial and decided to fit a 10db wide band masthead pre-amp to raise the signal levels to perfect before it was distributed by our customer’s distribution amplifier. We neatly ran our wf100 coax cable into our customer’s loft and connect to the amp changing all our customer’s connections ensuring all outlets had a good connection to the amp. We assembled the zone1 satellite dish and using a pole mount we attached the satellite dish between the 2 wall brackets providing a fantastic strong support for our dish. We had a good clear line of sight and we were happy with our satellite alignment strengths from our satellite meter, so our customer would be over the moon, with both the satellite installation and the YouView aerial installation.

Once we had run the twin satellite cable to our customer’s sitting room, we connected our cables to our customer’s Free-Sat Free-Time receiver and after completing a channel scan we were soon admiring their perfect pictures. The YouView aerial installation was also perfect, we tested the point with our spectrum analyser to check our customer’s cables were ok, and they were fine. We tuned the You-View receiver and once again perfect pictures! We packed away and another YouView aerial installation by www.andysaerials.com
