It’s getting close to Christmas and everyone wants the perfect picture on their TV’s, our 2^nd call of the day was for a pair of aerials to be fitted to a property in Chelmsford Essex where our customers wanted a TV aerial for London and another for Anglia.  Why just have one?  We had quoted our customer the week before and they booked us in while we quoting to get it done for the following week.  We removed their old aerial system and re-lashed their stack with our favourite heavy duty chimney cradle taking up 5 brick courses of the chimney stack.

We had taken some signal readings with our test aerial and was extremely pleased with the results, mixing 2 different signals into one cable can be a little awkward according to the given signal strengths, but on this occasion we were delighted to find both the Anglia and London signals weren’t too far apart and rather balanced.  We aligned the Anglia aerial first and then fitted the London aerial to the 8ft 1” ½ alloy mast, as you can see from the picture attached the aerials are virtually opposite directions 180degrees. We connected the 2 aerial coax leads into a diplexer and then cabled down the aerial mast to fit a masthead pre-amp to give both the aerial signals a little kick to ensure it arrived at the distribution amp perfectly.

We were immensely pleased with the appearance of our aerials and taped down the diplexer and masthead doors to ensure they would never open, we ran the single cable from our aerials into our customer’s loft where we neatly stapled it across the loft rafters of the house until we reached the distribution amplifier, where we changed our customer’s connections and terminated our aerial cable.  We tested our customer’s TV’s and we were very happy with the quality and strength at the TV points, needless to say our customer was too!

We cleared up and packed away leaving the property how we found it only now with a lovely aerial on the roof.  We wrote our bill and took payment then set of to our next call of the day new TV aerial and extra points in Chelmsford Essex again.  It’s lovely when our jobs are close together and not having too far to travel.
