One of the rare days when the sky was blue, and not a cloud to be seen and dry! Our 1st call of the day was for a satellite dish installation and when we arrived our customer wanted a D.A.B aerial too. Our customer’s chimney stack was ideal to access and lash but their neighbour’s aerial and lashing restricted the size of chimney bracket we could use. We went with a medium 8” chimney cradle and a 6ft 1” ¼ alloy mast to support the light weight contract aerial and zone 1 satellite mini dish. We took up the D.A.B radio aerial and electronically aligned and went back down to the van to assemble a Sky mini dish.

Our electric screwdriver had recently died and I had not realised how useful it was until I came to assemble the satellite dish. The self-tapping screws were tedious using a hand screwdriver, mental note to Andy replace the electric one. With the satellite dish now assembled and the quod L.N.B fitted I climbed back up on our customer’s roof and using pole fixings fitted the satellite dish to the aerial mast. I was very happy with the readings of my satellite meter both the signal strength and signal quality was good, and we always squeeze every DB out for our customers.

We ran 2 twin cables to 2 separate points as you will see from the attached picture our cable runs are neat, tidy and pinned. We always try our best to keep our cable runs neat and where possible invisible keeping our customer’s home and properties looking nice. We ran the 1st twin cable into our customer’s bedroom leaving them a loop by the sitting room as we passed, so they could easily put the twin cable into the sitting room if the wanted in the future. The 2nd twin cable run went to their neighbour’s house as their dish was not getting a good picture and was always breaking up. We cabled to their dish and connected our new cables to theirs. Double bubble 2 lots of happy customers with fantastic pictures. We packed away cleared up and wrote our bill.
