Wednesday 3rd April and our last call is Chelmsford Essex, our customer is having trouble with bird pooing over their path.  When we arrive we looked at the problem an 18yr old Yagi aerial on a 6” wall bracket fixed to the lovely new facia board of our customer’s house.

When I got chatting to my customer we both agreed it would not be financial viable to re-locate the old aerial onto new wall bracket and fix to a crank pole.  If they had paid me to do that they would still have had an old aerial which would not be covered by our guarantee.  So we done a deal on a new aerial I had an idea now of my customer’s budget and I decided a log-periodic w/b aerial would be the way forward.

The eves of the property at the gable end came out some 16”s so I fitted an 18” wall bracket to the gable end low enough down for the support of the bricks above and enough for the 6ft ¾ alloy crank pole to clear the roof and position the aerial over the roof, removing the bird poo problem.

I chose the log-periodic w/b aerial purely because it’s fixing was at the back of the aerial and would guarantee all the aerial would be over my customer’s roof.  I love log-periodic aerials as their gain from ch21 to ch68 is constant no dips and rises of signal as with all other aerials, only problem is I will only use a Facarro as their sealing of the coax cable to the aerial is far superior than any other log-periodic aerial.  And of course obtaining the Facarro is difficult!

With the Log-periodic on the crank pole I electronically aligned the aerial and was happy with the signal it provided.  I looked in my customer’s loft to ensure I could drill through the gable end, outside in and would know 100% my drill would not hit anything.  With the gable end now drilled I poked the cable into the loft, left a rain loop on the outside cable and sealed the entrance hole with brown silicon.

Once in the loft I stapled my aerial coax cable to my customer’s distribution amp and tested their 3 TV’s.  All perfect all happy.  I wrote my bill and headed home.New Tv Aerial Bishop Stortford Essex Andysaerials.com
