New Aerial Installation Essex www.andysaerials.com
Friday the 14th and what a peach of a day, blue sky and the sun is finally shining through. The view from our customer’s roof was absolutely spectacular, so good I took a picture for my blog as the sun was shining on the church and the view was simply stunning. We were there for a new aerial installation, and we soon realised our roof climber would not be long enough for our customer’s huge roof. Plan B was to put our ladders on top of the small dormer and between two of us manhandle our roof climber on the roof for us to get to the chimney stack. We took some signal readings as we were not too sure of the signal the surrounding properties had massive masts, pre-amps and one property had two pre-maps cascaded. We took up a Fracarro log-periodic and took some signal readings using our trusted spectrum analyser and we were very surprized and pleased to see that Sand Heath was coming in perfectly, no need for any amplification at all.

We knew we did not need an 8ft 1” ½ alloy mast but wanted the 1” ½ diameter so we cut an 8ft mast down to 4ft, giving us the 1” ½ diameter we wanted and by reducing the mast height giving our new aerial installation even further strength from the elements for years and years to come. We lashed our customer’s chimney stack with a large, heavy duty 5 brick course chimney cradle and fitted the chimney cradle with large U’ bolts to secure the aerial mast. We re-aligned the aerials electronically with our spectrum analyser and ran a new aerial coax cable to our customer’s sitting room.

With the new aerial installation installed we know had the fun of getting our roof climbing ladder back off of our customer’ s roof which wasn’t too bad, but it did take 2 of us to do it. We fitted a coax plug to our cable and connected it to our customer’s BT YouView box and re-tuned it along with their TV. We were all happy with the pictures so we packed away wrote our bill and looked in the diary for our next call, which was another New Aerial Installation Saffron Waldon Essex, so we did not have far to travel 1.8miles to be exact.
