New aerial install Billericay

Biggest trouble here was parking!  luckily a car moved and I could park my van outside my customer’s house, saving me walking miles with my ladders over my shoulder.

Extremely delicate roof (biscuit tiles, called that as they break so very easily and you spend more time replacing and repairing tiles after the new aerial installation is finished)  I put my main ladders up the front of the house to get me up to the 1st lift and then my shorter ladder to the stack which worked very well as I didn’t break  one tile!

Signal was poor so I opted for a Blake DMX10 w/b ultra high gain aerial, fixed to an 8ft 1″ 1/2 alloy mast.  I never use a steel mast as although they are very cheap, they are much more heavier to carry up to the roof, and do not look as nice as an aluminium mast, appearance is everything to me and my customer’s properties.   I needed to amplify the signal as the new aerial was struggling with signal, after aligning the Blake DMX10 w/b I decided to use a Televes w/b masthead pre-amp to guarantee the signal for my customer.  With the masthead fitted and the signal raised I needed to get myself and ladders off of the roof and fit a 12v power supply unit inside my customer’s house, and check the signal was arriving at the TV point at a good strength and still holding the same format.

Happy with the signal format and strength I made a new fly-lead from the power unit to my customer’ s TV and then re-tuned checking all channels, making sure they had all gone in and looking at picture quality.  My customer had their Tv a while and knew all its functions, so I cleared up and wrote my bill.
