Fm Omnidirectional Aerial Installation Www.andysaerials.comThis afternoon I went to Hornchurch Essex for a FM aerial installation, I arrived early as m y customer had a dental appointment.  I thought I could use the time to catch up on some paperwork but my customer turned up early too.  After introducing myself I walked to the rear of the property to obtain a better view of my customer’s chimney stack with a broken Antiference directional FM aerial.  We agreed a price and went to my van for my ladders, although my customer’s roof were biscuit tiles (small tiles which break like biscuits if you tread on them) there was a protruding dormer with a flat roof so I was able to get me ladders onto the dormer walk along the flat roof and then shimmy up the roof’s hip.

I made my way to the chimney stack and loosened the U bolts allowing the 10ft 2” alloy mast down so I could remove the broken Antiference directional FM aerial.  From the ground the aerial installation looked heavy duty and well done but once I was up there the first thing I noticed was the top U bolt had been done up far too tight and making a crease in the 2” alloy pole reducing its life expectancy by years.  I slid the mast down low so I was able to remove the Antiference FM aerial and took it down with me, on closer inspection the dipole had been fitted upside down which would allow water through the drain hole at the top which should have been at the bottom.

New aerial installation Billericay Essex www.andysaerials.com

This morning’s 2nd call was a new aerial installation Billericay Essex, due to wind damage, my customer’s aerial had fallen off their chimney stack, and was dangling by the coax cable on his roof luckily no tiles were broken where the aerial struck the roof.  The aerial was a Blake DMX10 A group which had survived the fall had a bent deflector plate but otherwise ok.  Had it of been a wide band I may of re-used the aerial as I had spare deflector plates on my van, but if Crystal Palace start transmitting channels above ch35 in the future, say more HD channels, my customer would have a limited aerial and paying for a new chimney cradle, lashing kit and an eight foot pole it made better sense to have a new aerial form me which also keeps the 5 year guarantee clear.

Had I of used my customer’s aerial my guarantee would have stopped at the furniture of the chimney stack, and for a little more money they now have a Blake DMX10 wide band aerial with a 5 year guarantee perfect.  It was still extremely windy while I was lashing the chimney stack and I just love the wind, never forget to secure your ladders in extreme wind as you will find yourself on a roof without a ladder!

What a lovely day for a new aerial Ingatestone Essex andysaerials.com  Sunshine, lollypops and gummy bears.  Saturday morning first call and the weather had changed from freezing to sunshine which is always welcomed in January.  My customer called me for a new aerial and a 2nd point to the bedroom at the rear of the house, they wanted Anglia if possible with the news and weather being more localised, unfortunately when I took some signal reading the Anglia signal was poor, probably due to the property being a bungalow and the distance from the Sudbury transmitter which is approximately 35miles away.

New Aerial Installation Hatfield Peverel Essex Www.andysaerials.comRoll on March and sunny days!  Yes it was as cold as it looks, and this customer won first prize for having the best biscuit selection at a new aerial install Hatfield Peverel Essex!  I quoted this job on Tuesday and booked it in for Thursday, the aerial signal was incredibly poor all the surrounding aerials were on 20ft masts which is never a good sign.

It was winter wonder land when we were called out to a new aerial install Writtle, as you can see from the attached picture it was cold and the roof was covered in snow too.  The black panels are solar panels which make my job even more difficult as they dominate the south side of the roof, making it difficult to reach the chimney stack.  The panels apparently store electricity and are dangerous to touch!  As you can see my roof climbing ladder just fitted past the solar panels allowing me access to the roof.  I’m pleased not every new aerial install Writtle has solar panels.

New aerial installation Brentwood Saturday 19th January 2013

Saturday lunchtime and very cold -4c my customer had already been quoted for a new aerial installation by a couple of other aerial companies and their quotes were unacceptable to my customer.  The house did not have a chimney so I selected the gable end at the rear of the house as I thought it would be more discreet and not over the front door.  My van was too big to go around the rear of the property so I carried everything around ladders, drill, aerial, meter, pole, cable, and the T & K wall brackets.  Although there was snow on the ground my customer’s garden stepped up from the patio which is great for me as I was able to use the bank to support my ladders.
